Rajasthan with the Taj 10 Night/ 11 Days

Visit Udaipur - Jodhpur - Jaisalmer - Bikaner - Jaipur - Agra - Delhi


Day 01: - Arrive Udaipur

On arrival at Udaipur Rly. Station or Airport you will be received and transferred to the hotel. After refreshments and breakfast proceed on a sightseeing tour of Udaipur. Visit City Palace originally built in 1559, overlooking the Lake Pichola, consisting of Durbar Hall, Crystal Gallery, Palace Museum and Jagdish Temple. Later visit Saheli Ki Bari, a small ornamental garden built for the Royal Ladies for recreational purpose. Visit the Fateh Sagar Lake where a memorial of Rana Pratap atop his faithful charger ‘Chetak’ stands and people pay their respect. Later visit the Lok-kala Mandal & Shilpgram which are a collection of folk art mementos like folk dresses, musical instruments, ornaments, puppets, masks, paintings, Village art and crafts etc. They also organize puppet shows and folk dances every evening in an open air theatre. Overnight at Udaipur.

Day 02: Excursion to Chittaurgarh

After Breakfast at hotel you will go on an excursion to Chittaurgarh. Chittaurgarh fort is considered one of the most admired Fort in India considering it’s built and vastness. The fort stands on a 240-hectares land on a 180m high hill that rises rapidly from the plains below. Also visit Kirti Stambha, Rana-Kumbha Palace, Padmini Palace, Meera Temple, Kumbha Shyam Temple and Kalika Mata Temple, State Archaeological Museum. Return to Udaipur and rest of the evening is free. You can enjoy boat ride at Lake Pichola on your own. Overnight at Udaipur.

Day 03: Udaipur - Jodhpur (260 Kms. / 5 hrs.)

After breakfast check out of your hotel and drive to Jodhpur en-route visiting the Jain temples at Ranakpur. These 12th Century temples intricately sculpted out of white marble, with 108 carved pillars is a marvellous feat of architecture. Proceed to Jodhpur and on arrival check in to your hotel. Evening is free and you may visit the locale on your own. Overnight in Jodhpur.

Day 04: Jodhpur:

After breakfast proceed on a sightseeing tour of Jodhpur covering Clock Tower, Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Umaid Bhawan etc. Mehrangarh Fort is built atop a hill at an altitude of about 125 meters and spread over 5 sq. km. Jaswant Thada is a white marble memorial built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh. Umaid Bhawan Palace is a majestic Palace building that presently functions as a hotel and museum. Later proceed on an excursion to a Bishnoi Village, for an ethnic experience of the local village life. Return to Jodhpur for overnight stay.

Day 05: Jodhpur - Jaisalmer (270 Kms / 4 hrs aprox.)

After breakfast proceed to Jaisalmer en route visit Osian Village, ruins of an ancient city. Osian has 15 beautifully sculpted Jain and Brahmanical temples in ruins like Sachiya Mata Temple and the temple dedicated to Lord Mahavira. On arrival at Jaisalmer Check in to the hotel. In the evening you can visit Gadisar Lake in the main city or the local market to acclimatize with the city atmosphere. Overnight stay at Jaisalmer.

Day 06: Jaisalmer

After breakfast proceed on a sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer covering Jaisalmer Fort, Salim Singh ki haveli, Amar Sagar, Sam Sand Dunes etc. The Jaisalmer is built on the Trikuta hill and have 99 bastions. Outstanding features are Megh Durbar & various temples, Salim Singh-Ki-Haveli & Patwon-Ki-Haveli - some of the beautiful mansions with intricate stone carvings. Later drive to Sam Sand Dunes – aprox. 45 kms en route visit the ancient Temple of Lodurwa, Amar Sagar and Mool Sagar Complex, built in 1815 AD. On arrival at Sam Sand Dunes you can enjoy camel safari on your own to discover the various sights and sounds, the ruins and the temples in and around Jaisalmer in an authentic and leisurely fashion with entertainment by folk performers, visits to villages, and chatter from colorful guides thrown in. After safari drive back to Jaisalmer for overnight stay.

Note: Optionally you can stay overnight at the Sam Sand dunes in luxury tented accommodation, enjoying the starry night with ethnic food, folk dances, bonfire and camel safari in dunes.

Day 07: Jaisalmer - Bikaner (330 Kms. / 4 hrs 30mns.)

After breakfast checkout of the hotel and drive to Bikaner, en route visiting the massive Fort Pokharan. Pokharan Fort built in 1532-1584 the yellow sandstone Pokhran fort, though not as grand a fort as some of the others in Rajasthan has a few exquisite palaces like the Mangal Niwas, the Rani Mahal and the Phool Niwas or the Flower Palace, and Pokhran Museum which has a showpiece of an assortment of weapons, paintings, pottery and the costumes of yore. After visit continues to drive to Bikaner. On arrival transfer to hotel. The evening free for leasiure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 08: Bikaner - Jaipur (300 Kms. / 4 hrs)

After breakfast take a sightseeing tour of Bikaner covering Junagadh Fort - constructed between 1588 and 1593 by Raja Rai Singh,the fort boasts of about 1000 meter long wall with 37 bastions. Bhand Sagar Temple - The 16th century Jain temple, is the most important temple of this complex. Later check out the hotel and drive to Jaipur en-route visiting Deshnok to see the world famous rat Temple of Karnimata. In this temple rats are held sacred & roam freely within the temple complex. Take a short stop over at Mandawa visiting old havelis. On arrival at Jaipur check in to the hotel. Overnight at Jaipur.

Day 09: Jaipur

Today after breakfast proceed on a sightseeing trip of Jaipur and its outskirts. Visit the Amber Fort, in the outskirt of the city. Experience the imposing structure with its awe inspiring view. You can hire an elephant for a joy ride. Later visit the City Palace, the Central Museum. Jantar Mantar, the Hawa Mahal etc. Later in the evening visit Birla Temple and you may opt to visit Chokhi Dhani - an ethnic 5 star resort serving Rajasthani & Continental cuisine with live music, astrology, games, folk dances and music, puppet shows in an ambiance of an ethnic village. Overnight at Jaipur.

Day 10: Jaipur - Agra: (230 Kms./4 hrs aprox.)

After breakfast drive to Agra en-route visiting Fatehpur Sikri the abandoned fort city built in red sandstone in honour of Saint Salim Chisti who predicted sons to the Emperor Akbar. See Diwan-e-Khas, Punch Mahal, the Tomb of Salim Chisti, and the Bulund Darwaza. On arrival at Agra check into the hotel. Later visit the Agra Fort from where you get the romantic view of the Taj Mahal across the river Jamuna. it houses the beautiful Pearl Mosque and numerous palaces including the Jahangir Mahal, Diwan-i-Khas, Diwan-i-Am, Nagina Masjid, Meena Bazar, Moti Masjid, Sheesh Mahal, Musamman Burj where from Taj Mahal is visible in all its beauty from one side of the fort. So very ironically, Emperor Sahahjahan, prisoner of his son Aurangzeb in his old age was put in a cell from where he could gaze at the Taj Mahal at a distance, from his cell in the fort. Overnight in Agra.

Day 11: Agra - Delhi (230 Kms. / 5 hrs aprox.)

Early morning visit the world famous monument of love, the Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal, the architectural modern day wonder of the world; this monument is a fine example of the fusion of many architectural styles. Later drive to Delhi. On arrival transfer to Railway Station.
